Accessibility

Accessibility in web design is about ensuring that websites are usable and available to the widest possible audience. As described in the Web Standards section, the WAI (Website Accessibility Initiative) was launched by the W3C to advise those who build websites on strategies for accessible web design.

UK law requires businesses make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the services they offer to ensure that they are accessible to all (including users with non standard browsers such as screen readers). They do not state specifically which of the W3C guidelines on accessibility should be adhered to, however it is generally accepted that to comply with UK law a website should comply with the W3C Website Accessibility Priority 1 guidelines (http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/full-checklist.html)

We ensure that all our websites comply with this guideline and with UK law, however we also go further and implement many of the guidelines outlines in Priority 2 and 3 of these guidelines.
