DGP Group
DGP Group is one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of packaging solutions for dangerous and infectious substances. DGP have a truly global outlook, and despite being based in unassuming York, have offices and customers in all parts of the world.
Due to their global outreach, DGP required a website that could be easily viewed in multiple languages; yet remain as easily updatable by themselves as it is viewable by their varied customer base. For this reason they chose Giant Systems, and the all inclusive FlexCMS Content Management System to organise the content on their website. Now DGP’s clients have the option of viewing the site in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Japanese. There is also an American option for converting weights from metric to imperial.
DGP Group also required a site which could offer different prices and products to customers based upon certain criteria. Giant Systems developed a client login system which enabled DGP to create customer specific pages, products, items and prices. This has enabled DGP to target their customers much more efficiently, and thoroughly streamline the order process from both sides.

Carlac

Carlac required an ecommerce portal to allow customers to purchase products online and to provide customers with a back office system to view account activity, past invoices and management information.
We were able to offer Carlac a high quality solution which achieved this, our solution incorporated the following features:
- Integration with existing order fulfilment processes - orders placed via the website are passed to Carlac's existing order management system in the same way that telephone or fax orders are managed.
- The system integration allowed customer access to real time data about the stock of a given product in the Carlac branch local to them.
- Should a product be out of stock, the purchasing system could be queried to display a list of alternative similar in-stock products.
- Reduced administration costs - before introduction of the website, smaller orders were too costly to process manually by administrative staff within Carlac. The website enabled the automated processing of such orders thereby dramatically reducing the administrative time needed to fulfil an order by Carlac.
- Integration with the VelocityPay credit card processor proved to be a cost effective and reliable method of taking payment from customers.
- Customers were provided with a back office area to view and manage their account details, view invoice histories and access graphical management information.
- Dynamic generation of graphical sales information allowing customers to track their purchasing habits over time.
- Providing customers with access to Volatile Organic Chemical (VOC) reports.
