If an ecommerce website is to be successful in increasing sales and customer loyalty it must be carefully designed. Giving careful consideration to issues relating to website design and usuability is essential if an ecommerce website is to be successful.

At an early stage in the development process of a website we evaluate other successful websites which achieve high volumes of sales in a similar market to establish:

• What fuctionality these websites make available to customers?
• How are these websites structured?
• In what style are these websites designed and how does this style appeal to the target market?

The aim of asking these questions is not to create a website that is the same as a competitor's website, rather the aim is to assess what an ecommerce website in a given industry must provide to be successful. This can then be used as baseline in terms of design and functionality when creating your website.

A great deal of care is taken to ensure our ecommerce sites gain a good listing in all major search engines. We produce a Google site map for all sites to ensure that sites are thoroughly indexed by Google.

In addition, if requested we are able to automatically list all products in Google Products (Google's shopping aggregation service, formerly known as Froogle) and many other shopping aggregation systems if required.

Other steps taken to enhance search engine optimization of sites include URL re-writing, keyword analysis and structuring textual content within a site to maximise visibility in search engines (including dynamic generation of page titles and meta tags to include appropriate keywords).

We also take accessibility seriously, UK law states that website owners should take reasonable steps to ensure that sites are accessible to users of non-standard browsing devices. We go further than complying with this law and aim to ensure that our sites comply with Priority 1 of the W3C's Web Accessibility Guidelines.
